EDUCATION

Dr. Mahta Rasouli attended the University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree in human biology, graduating on the dean’s list. She then went to Queen’s University, where she then obtained her medical degree. Dr. Rasouli completed her five-year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Alberta, where she held the position of chief resident.

During her residency, Dr. Rasouli received elective ophthalmology training with a focus on retinopathy at   
the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England.

 

REFRACTIVE EXPERIENCE

Dr. Rasouli has a keen interest in refractive errors and other ocular conditions and diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and retinopathy. She has undergone laser refractive surgery training from some of the most experienced refractive surgeons in Canada and is up-to-date with the latest laser vision correction techniques and technology. Dr. Rasouli is also experienced in using the latest laser platforms.

In addition to her work at King LASIK, Dr. Rasouli also routinely receives training in comprehensive ophthalmology, where she gains knowledge about several types of surgeries to correct cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, and retinopathy. She has also performed numerous oculoplastic procedures, such as blepharoplasty. Dr. Rasouli also teaches and mentors residents at her comprehensive ophthalmology clinic.
