Dr. Ghislain-André Boudreault
Refractive surgeon with over 50,000 ocular procedures performed
Dr. Boudreault received his medical degree from Université Laval and completed his residency there, followed by four months at Harvard Medical School. He went on to complete fellowships at George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Purdue University. Recognized as a pioneer in refractive surgery in Quebec, Dr. Boudreault has over 20 years of experience and holds the distinction of being the first Canadian to rank first overall on the American Board of Ophthalmology's oral exam. He was also the first surgeon to perform All‑Laser LASIK using the IntraLase femtosecond laser east of Ontario.
Dr. Kam Kassiri
Refractive surgeon & medical director with over 65,000 ocular procedures performed
Dr. Kassiri holds a bachelor's degree in pharmacology and a master's in neuroscience from the University of Toronto, a medical degree from the University of Manitoba, and completed his residency in ophthalmic surgery at the University of Alberta. With over 14 years of clinical expertise, he is among the most experienced refractive surgeons in Western Canada, offering LASIK, PRK, RLE, ICL implantation, and refractive cataract surgery. He currently serves as Medical Director for both LASIK MD and King LASIK, co-founded Alberta Eye MD, and holds surgical privileges in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Alberta. Dr. Kassiri is one of the few surgeons in Western Canada with over 12 years of experience in Topography‑Guided Custom Ablation Treatment (TCAT) combined with Corneal Collagen Cross‑Linking (CXL) for keratoconus patients.

Early 1990s | Medical Foundations
Founding surgeon, Dr. Joseph King, graduated from UBC School of Medicine (1992) and trained in pioneering PRK technology in Vancouver, one of North America's few early laser centers.
1996 | Advanced Surgical Training
Dr. King completed specialized refractive fellowships and initial laser vision correction procedures.
1997 | Clinic Founded
King LASIK established in British Columbia as a premier, physician-owned clinic serving Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
1998 – 1999 | High-Volume Milestones
King LASIK expanded services to high-stakes professionals (pilots, physicians, athletes) and achieved 10,000+ successful procedures, performing up to 800 per month.
Late 1990s – 2000s | Regional & Clinical Firsts
Dr. King served as a global clinical investigator and introduced multiple technological firsts to Western Canada, including i-LASIK and Zyoptix platforms.
2010 | Global Innovation Leader
Dr. King performed the world's first custom laser vision correction procedure utilizing next-generation wavefront-guided technology.
Present | Continued Surgical Excellence
Currently led by Dr. Boudreault and Dr. Kassiri, two highly trained experienced surgeons continuing Dr. King’s legacy built on precision, innovation, and exceptional patient outcomes across Western Canada. Dr. King departed the clinic in 2023.
